    a) They lift the pail of water by pulleys.
    b) Single fixed pulley, single movable pulley and block and tackle.
    c) "What she is gaining in the force, she is losing in the DISTANCE."
    d) I understand something like this: In essence, she becomes three times strong as Jack. So, I think that she must pull 3 meters.
    e) For example, to raise the sail of a boat, on a roller coaster wagons or in the operation of a train.
