THE MONKS' SONG

Today we could learn about activities monks should make in a monastery with a funny song from Horrible Histories, a program on BBC. You can visit the page to watch more "Horrible Histories".

And with these lyrics, you can sing like a Monk.

Maybe you can also answer these questions:

a) What is a "vow of silence"?
b) What order can you currently find in the Monastery of Silos (Burgos)?
c) What is the Gregorian Chant?
d) Do you know a place in Spain where this kind of chant is still sung?
e) What does monks illuminate?

    a) A vow of silence is a vow that consist on monks don`t talk in a determinante time for fill in their souls with the spirituality that God sends.

c)Chant used in the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. It's simple, monodic and with a music subject to the text.

    d) Internet says that in the Monastery of Silos the monks sing Gregorian Chants.

The questions B and E, I cannot answer them because in Internet there is not any information.
