When we were in Madrid last Tuesday, I could visit a bar, it is a place that is linked to the unit we are studying now, about workers' movements. Try to guess why this bar is important, what was done there!
The bar is the Casa Labra. It is very important because of it’s where the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) was setted up the 2nd of May of 1879.

In 1856, the mythical streets of Peregrinos, la Zarza and de los Negros disappeared to make way for a new road. A street that would border the emblematic heart of Madrid on the north side and remember with its name the victory of the Spanish army in one of the battles of the Spanish-Moroccan war that occurred in those same years.
This food house born in 1860 has seen through its door part of the history of the people of Madrid and the Spaniards. In its bar and in its few tables of the interior room, large contracts have been signed, great agreements have been made and even one of the most important political parties in the country has been founded, the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), the 2nd May 1879 with Pablo Iglesias at the head. It was founded around 25 people: 16 typographers, four doctors, a doctor of science, two jewelers, a marble worker and a shoemaker. With what is the oldest political party in Spain with uninterrupted operations to date.

They would learn the chivalric codes of conduct and listen to epic tales of Roland, Charlemagne, Arthur, Percival and Lancelot. After years ...
